Limits

Doulas are not medical practitioners and do not diagnose or treat postpartum related symptoms.

Information presented in our meetings and conversations are never intended as a substitute for the medical advice of a properly licensed health care professional. In addition, doulas do not make specific health claims or promise medical results.

Doulas are also not responsible for major or deep housecleaning tasks, nor may they transport any member of the client’s family. They will, however, aid in referring companies and others that do offer these services.

The postpartum doula roll is not that of a primary childcare provider. A parent is expected to be on the premises while the postpartum doula is working.

Terms

I, the Postpartum Doula, agree to work for you on a predetermined schedule, subject to availability and mutually agreed upon hours. For billing purposes, an hour is considered to begin when I arrive at your home at a previously arranged time. If I run errands for you on my way to your home, the hour begins when I arrive at my first stop.

I will make every effort to be with the client at the scheduled times. If I am not able to come due to sickness or emergency, the Client(s) will be informed and I will provide support on another day, or provide a backup caregiver for that particular day if possible.

Obligations to the Doula: The Client(s) need to let me know of any special needs, customs, or traditions they may have during the postpartum period. I always keep the Client’s parenting style and customs in mind and do not force my opinions on the Client(s).

Upon hiring, there will be an “intake” session to determine your needs.

I require a non-refundable retainer of half the fee amount.

Should you decide for any reason that you do not wish to use my services once we have entered into this agreement, no refunds will be given on the retainer. The retainer reflects my commitment to be available to you, as well as being your commitment of payment for securing my services.

Less the intake fee, the remaining balance will be due at the beginning of the last week of services rendered.
